Bahubali stood best popular film in 65 National Film awards
Prestigious 65th National Films Awards were announced grandly. The program was held at PIB Conference Room, Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi. Director of Jury Shekhar Kapur announced the awards. The award were announced based on the movies released in the year 2017 in all the languages like Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. Bahubali
National awards jury members include actress Gautami, Imtiaz Hussain, songwriter Mehboob, P Seshadri Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Ranjit Das, Rajesh Mupskar, Tripuri Sharma and Rumi Jaffrey. Winners will be awarded on May 3rd.
Best Actress: Sridevi (Mum)
Best Telugu Film: Ghazi
Best Hindi Movie: Newton
Best Malayali film: Take-off
Best Tamil film: To Let
Best Marathi film: Kacha Nimboo
Best Kannada film: Hebbetta Ramakka
Best Bengali film: Mayurakshi
Best Action Picture: Bahubali -2
Best Music Director: AR Rahman (Mam), (Katru Vellaiyay)
Best Choreographer: Ganesh Acharya (Toilet: Ek Premkatha)
Best Director: Jayaraj (horror of Malayalam film)
Best Supporting Actor: Fahad Fossil (Tandimuththalam Darsakshyam)

On the other side controversy started over the the awards. Telugu films have been nominated for the National Film Awards announced in various departments. Young director Sankalp Reddy Ghazi is the best Telugu film for 2017. The second part of the Bahubali bagged three awards.
The jury has announced the best action director as Abbas Ali Moghul for Bahubali the conclusion. But everything seems to be a big mistake regarding Bahubali’ action director. The film was produced by Shobu Yarlagadda himself Tweeted. ‘Who is Abbas Ali Mughal? He did not work for Bahubali 2 or for Bahubali 1,” he said on Twitter. Peter Heins worked as an Action Director for the original ‘Bahubali’.
After the announcement, the award ceremony for the 65th National Film Awards will be held on May 3, 2018. The National Film Awards will be presented by President Ram Nath Kovind.
