LG may launch V20 at Rs 49,990 in India by November-end

Back in September, LG launched its V20 smartphone, the first phone to run Android Nougat at launch. The successor of LG V10, which never reached India, may soon launch in the country with a price tag of Rs 49,990.

Update: Sources have confirmed it to IndiaToday.in that LG will launch the V20 smartphone by the end of November.

At LG V20’s global launch, LG India’s managing director, Kim Ki-Wan had said that the company plans to bring the phone to India in a month’s time. While it has been about two months since its launch in the US, the latest report by Gadgets 360 suggests that the V20 smartphone is coming to India very soon and at price suitable for a flagship phone.

LG V20 comes with a 5.7-inch QHD IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The smartphone packs heavy multimedia features like Hi-Fi Quad DAC, HD Audio Recorder and front and rear wide-angle lens cameras.

The smartphone carries a 16-megapixel camera on the back with laser and phase-detection autofocus. The wide-angle camera is accompanied by a secondary wide-angle 8-megapixel camera for 135-degree shots. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel camera, which is capable of clicking normal and wide-angle photos.

On the top part of the screen, there is another secondary screen, which we have seen in the V10. The secondary screen shows notifications and alerts with double the brightness and 50 percent larger font size compared to V10.

LG’s latest phone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor backed by 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 2GB using a microSD card.

At the rumored price, the LG V20 offers flagship experience at a cheaper price compared to Apple’s latest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus and Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.

At the time of the launch, Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications Company, had said, “The LG V20 is designed to offer customers a more dynamic experience by building on the most popular video and audio features of the V-series.”
