Silent film ‘Mercury’ is a universal thriller, says Subbaraj
Karthik Subbaraj, the young director of the movie directed creative movies like ‘Pizza’, ‘Jigartha’ and ‘Iravai’. Now his latest film is ‘Mercury’. Prabhu Deva plays a key role. The film is being screened as Silent Thriller and is scheduled for release on April 13th. The already released Teaser movie has made huge expectations. Speciality in the Film is screened without a single dialogue.
Speaking about his role in ‘Mercury’, Prabhu Deva said, “Mercury is my most challenging role to date. We got an amazing response for teaser. Audiences have never seen me like this.”
In retrospect, the filmmaker-choreographer calls himself a reluctant actor. “I’ve never really enjoyed being in front of the camera. Friends like Remo D’Souza and Rajiv Menon have requested me to act. I’ve done what they asked me to in their films. This is the first time I’ve taken such a keen interest in a film where I am acting.”
‘We did not even make any noise while shooting. Background music added after completing the film. It does not have any conversations. Looking forward to this new experiment. We have never done such experiments in the past. Hope you like the audience perfectly. Because I Know story and screen play. Everyone can watch this movie. During the shooting, it is very eager and enthusiastic. Generally the release of the film is stressed by everyone. But we do not have any pressure on the film. The audience will sure enjoy the film”.
Stoneburn Pvt Ltd is producing ‘Mercury’ on the banner of Penn India Ltd. Santosh Narayan and Mithun Sharma producers. Santhreddi, Deepak Paramesh, Anish Padman and Ramya Nambeesan are playing key roles.
