Race began for TPCC Chief Post
Congress high command is keen to find a replacement for current TPCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy. Not much progress has been seen in the Telangana Congress in the past two-and-a-half years due to leadership issues. During the same period, TRS became much stronger and even the surveys show KCR will be the retaining power in 2019.
All these factors prompted AICC to go in search for the new TPCC Chief. Mohammad Azharuddin, Damodar Rajanarasimha, and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy were asked to be in Delhi to discuss the matter. Which means, High Command is likely to pick up one of them as the new PCC Chief. It is learned that party leadership directed they’re to come up with their own action plan to improve prospects of Congress within a couple of weeks.
Azhar has roots in Hyderabad and he has got bright chances to lead Telangana Congress. Damodar Rajanarasimha is an experienced campaign who even served as Deputy CM of United AP until 2014 Polls. Chances look bleak for Komatireddy as he is known for controversial statements and his name surfaced even in Gangster Nayeem’s issue.
